Currently I involved in project to deploy a new Domino 8.0.2 server with new Lotus Notes 8.0.2 client. Yes as per I expected, IBM did fixed a lot of bugs which were exist in 8.0.1.
Maybe I can list down the new improvement of 8.0.2 compared to 8.0.1
1. Standard client start much faster than 8.0.1
2. IBM add indicator bar to let user know that the client in process to up compared to 8.0.1 which is we did not know either is running or hang.
3. Login form appear before the client.
4. Accessing time for each database much faster.
But accidentally I found out a few new bugs in 8.0.2 client which are until now I still could not find any answer.
1. Somehow, after perfect configuration of Lotus Notes client, one line in Notes.ini change by itself. It change from Data path to Program file path. It cause client cannot start and error saying cannot find any bookmark or names.nsf
2. For Lotus Notes Standard, somehow after user use the client for 1 or 2 days, the client cannot up and cannot uninstall due to Eclipse installation is corrupt. This happen to some of the users that we installed previously.
3. Everytime user close the client, need to wait for 10 seconds so that the services can be successfully stop. If user start the client before the related services completely shutdown, client will not up.
I hope IBM will fix this issue. For those have any answer, share your comment about these bugs that I did found out.
